Fields and Factories: Co-existing in Changhua explores the rural-industrial landscape of Changhua, Taiwan, where agricultural fields, factories, roads, and settlements exist side by side. Through satellite imagery, Google Street View, and geospatial analysis, the work follows several road corridors to observe how farming and manufacturing occupy the same terrain.

Moving between aerial views and street-level perspectives, the project reveals a landscape that is neither purely rural nor fully urban. Metal sheds, rice fields, factory entrances, irrigation systems, and village houses form a dense patchwork of production and everyday life.

Rather than presenting coexistence as harmony, the work treats it as an ongoing negotiation between land, labor, industry, and memory. Changhua’s landscape becomes a visual record of Taiwan’s economic transformation and the complex ways development is embedded in ordinary places.
