Site Selection in the Digital Age

In today's digital age, the rise of e-commerce has posed a challenge to physical retail. As consumer behavior continues to evolve, there is a growing need to reassess the role of physical space in retail and the site selection strategy. This project proposes a new approach to site selection based on online transaction data from the fresh food e-commerce company "YIMISHIJI", as well as a pop-up store design that aims to bridge the gap between physical retail and the digital world.

Through the redesign of physical retail space, offline interaction can foster emotional connections that e-commerce struggles to build. Simultaneously, the immersive experience of the pop-up store can seamlessly guide customers from physical activity to digital interaction. By combining the physical and digital, physical retail spaces have the potential to serve as new public spaces for citizens to engage with farmers, vendors, and other members of their community. The project seeks to create a new and innovative approach to physical retail that complements and enhances the digital experience, ultimately creating a more engaging and meaningful shopping experience for consumers.
